New Packaging

For much of my jewelry I present in my taffeta jewelry pouches (a new batch is on the way soon--can't wait!) but for the more delicate or elaborate pieces I enclose them in a box. This is the first time I've had the boxes stamped with my logo. Above are the simple gray suede boxes with "Fuss Jewelry" in gold foil. I love them!
And on a completely unrelated note, I found this big, puffy seed head floating around the yard yesterday. I have no idea what plant or tree it is from--it measured about 2 inches in diameter and caught the wind so easily and floated away as soon as I let go.

September, September...

It's here... and I'm psyched! We lucked out here during Irene, lost power for seemingly endless days, but there was barely a branch down on our property. Reports are there were trees down on every road in town however...

While I am working on new items for the online shops, I am super excited about a new store to carry my work--Ziabird! I'm gathering a nice batch of goodies to send to this gorgeous boutique in North Carolina and hope to have my work for sale there by the end of September. Hurray! I'll post pics of any new work that I send their way.

Meanwhile, my garden is looking a bit sad at this point. The hurricane really beat down a number of ornamental grasses and my sedum (gasp!). The sedum are about to bloom their gorgeous pink and a few of the dozen plants never really got a chance. Here are pictures I took the last week of August.

This is a shot of the dozen or so sedum I planted nearly 10 years ago.

Most of the buds were still green and closed a few weeks ago, but a few were starting to pink up.

And this is a glimpse through one of the grasses.

And now a few new pieces in the shop...

A September batch off to NY

On their way to Paul Labrecque Salon and Spa's boutiques... and a few are in my online store.

Like these

and these

I'm not really ready to accept the deeper colors and richer feeling of fall--there are still so many warm days reading out by the pool to enjoy.
And bunnies to watch hopping around the garden.

August Garden in Connecticut

There's plenty of color in the final months of my garden's bloom. Over the next week I'll document a few of my favorite blooms and the jewelry they inspire...

Daisies!

Out in my backyard garden the daisies are in bloom...

So I felt compelled to make these:

They are available in my etsy shop now. I will devote much of today to making a new batch of rings but would love to incorporate the colors of these beauties...

I just love the combination of the azure-violet-blue and the sage green--perfection! Here's wishing you a wonderful summer day!
